CUTLERY LE PÉRIGORD

Native from the town of Nontron, in the northwest of the Dordogne, already known for its cutlery tradition since the fifteenth century, the knives Le Périgord are made in the purest cutlery tradition.

The blades
The blades we use are made with Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel ( 13,5 % chromium and 0,60 % carbone contents ), allowing a 53-55 HRC hardness after thermic processing.
The Damas blades: a "millefeuille" of steel is worked with succesive plys. Our damas have 120 layers.

The shafts
We give much importance to the selection of precious wood billets." Le Périgord "is proposed in nine different wood essences.

Ebony : Gabon // Boxwood : Périgord // Olive tree : Spain // Walnut tree : Périgord // Amourette : Surinam // Palm tree : French Guiana // Wengé : Zaire // Rose wood : Brasil

The ferrule
The massive ferrule and contre ferrule ensemble made with stainless steel or brass ( "uncollaring") allows with a simple screwdriver to intervene on the blade at any time, be it to settle the tightening or occasionaly to change it. This innovation has been the object of a caveat with the INPI under the number 0307150. The ferrule also ensures a blade lock ( security ) in close or open position.
